Cheltenham Festival is understood to be under threat due to strong winds. There is now the possibility of the festival being extended until Saturday, with an 8am inspection planned for Wednesday. Gusts of 40mph are expected to batter the racecourse on Wednesday and course clerk Simon Claisse says officials are monitoring the weather carefully. He said: We wanted to give an early insight into conditions for tomorrow as the forecast is looking challenging with strong, gusting winds throughout the day.
